In Math 387, I present these topics (primes, gcd, unique factorization) in commutative domains, and give several examples, including the integers. The treatement is significantly deeper, and I expect more of the students in 387. I agree that we should probably change the learning outcome for 387 to reflect the higher level of understanding that is expected. [[User:dmd54|dmd54]] | ||

- Delete Math 343 as a prerequisite. (It's redundant.)--Cpg 12:07, 8 May 2008 (MDT)
In Math 190, I usually limit myself to a bare bones presentation of the topics listed in learning outcome 8. In Math 387, I present these topics (primes, gcd, unique factorization) in commutative domains, and give several examples, including the integers. The treatement is significantly deeper, and I expect more of the students in 387. I agree that we should probably change the learning outcome for 387 to reflect the higher level of understanding that is expected. dmd54
